Our Continuum of Change

SMH is constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our residents. Recent building projects range from the addition of over 15,000 square feet of community space for all of our residents and their families to enjoy, to smaller scale projects like a new elevator in the apartment section of our main building, which has provided added convenience.

Upon realizing the need for more community space in our facility, along with more modernized Personal Care rooms, our most recent major building renovation began in 2002.

Now completed, this major building addition provides an expanded entrance to our facility with an apple tree sculpture right in the center of the lobby; a reminder of our heritage. This landmark provides a comfortable place to rekindle past friendships or begin new ones.

After hearing our residents express desire for larger, more modern rooms, we also included renovations to our Personal Care rooms in this building addition; a redesign of our original building. If you have not been to SMH recently, we invite you to come see our newly redesigned interior.

Summit View Auditorium Our most recent building project also provided a beautiful new auditorium that seats over 300 persons. This addition is used for many different purposes including Sunday morning worship services, special music programs and even the showing of movies on our large screen projector. This state of the art addition provides capabilities to transfer any activity that is taking place in the auditorium through our closed caption, in-house television station so that residents, from the comforts of their rooms, can enjoy any program taking place in the auditorium. The new addition also provides for a more intimate atmosphere for other resident activities.

Our residents are permitted to reserve these spaces, at no charge, for private functions and can do so simply by notifying our Receptionist.

SMH is dedicated to adapting to the needs and wants of our residents. Check the "New Developments" section of our website periodically to learn about our upcoming projects.
