"V" Is for Valuable Volunteers and Volunteens

A volunteer is someone who possesses certain skills and talents, and freely shares these with others. Defined, a volunteer is "One who does or undertakes to do that which he is not legally or morally bound to do; one who enters into service of his own free will."

Volunteers can be male or female, young or old, and anything in between. They are unique and have the opportunity not only to help individuals but to become society's value changers, leaving a permanent mark upon the future.

At SMH, volunteers can work on a person-to-person level or for our facility at large. Day, night, weekdays, weekends, volunteers can help fill the social and emotional needs of our residents while professional staff insures all medical, physical and hygienic needs are met.
